The best Omega watches to buy in the UK (2026)
Seamaster, Speedmaster, Aqua Terra, Constellation, De Ville: Omega makes a lot of watches, and the names don't make the choice easy. This is which Omega to buy and why, for men and women, from the one James Bond wears to the one that went to the Moon.

We don't sell watches. Links to retailers are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, the retailer may pay us a commission. You pay the same price, and no brand or retailer pays to appear. How this works

- Questions people ask
The best Omega watch for most people is the Seamaster Diver 300M: water resistant to 300 metres, with a ceramic dial and a Master Chronometer movement. If you want the watch with the best story, it's the Speedmaster Moonwatch. For everyday smart wear, the Aqua Terra, and for women, the Constellation.
Every watch here is sold new by Goldsmiths, a UK authorised Omega retailer, with Omega's 5-year guarantee. Prices are Goldsmiths' own on the date shown.
How we chose
We looked at every Omega Goldsmiths has in stock, from small quartz Constellations to gold Speedmasters, and picked the best of each collection on what you actually get: the movement, water resistance, size and price. The facts come from Goldsmiths' and Omega's own descriptions. We earn a commission if you buy through our links, which never changes the price you pay.
Which Omega should you buy? The collections explained
Omega's names are confusing because "Seamaster" covers several different watches. In plain English:
| Collection | What it is | Best for | Example price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seamaster Diver 300M | The modern dive watch, James Bond's Omega | One watch for everything | £5,900 |
| Speedmaster Moonwatch | The hand-wound chronograph that went to the Moon | History, chronograph lovers | £6,600 |
| Seamaster Aqua Terra | A smart, simple sports watch | Everyday, office | £6,200 |
| Seamaster 300 | Vintage-style diver, based on 1957 | Classic looks | £6,700 |
| Railmaster | Plain, readable, very anti-magnetic | Understated, smaller wrists | £5,200 |
| Planet Ocean | The big, serious diver: 600 metres | Divers, bold looks | £6,700 |
| Constellation | Claws on the bezel, mostly for women | Dressy, jewellery-like | £3,000 |
| De Ville | Omega's dress watches | Suits, weddings, value | £4,600 |
The best Omega overall: Seamaster Diver 300M
If you're buying one Omega, make it this. Goldsmiths' description says the Diver 300M has been around since 1993 and was updated from the inside out for its 25th anniversary. This blue version has a "Summer Blue" ceramic dial with Omega's wave pattern, a ceramic bezel and the Master Chronometer calibre 8800, which Goldsmiths' description of the same movement in other Omegas gives as a 55-hour power reserve.
It's 42mm, which suits most men's wrists, and it's water resistant to 300 metres, so it's genuinely a watch for swimming and diving, not just for looking at. The chronograph version is the one Goldsmiths describes as "the choice of James Bond for over 25 years". It costs more and wears bigger at 44mm. The Moonwatch: Speedmaster Professional
The Speedmaster is the watch with the story. According to Goldsmiths' description, it was part of all six Moon landings, and today's Moonwatch is inspired by the fourth-generation Speedmaster worn on the Moon, down to its black step dial and asymmetrical 42mm case.
Two things to know before you buy. It's hand-wound: you wind it by the crown every day or two, which many owners enjoy. And it's water resistant to 50 metres: fine for rain and washing your hands, not for swimming. Since 2021 it has the Master Chronometer calibre 3861. At the time of writing, the nylon-strap version is the least expensive Moonwatch at Goldsmiths.

The best everyday Omega: Seamaster Aqua Terra
The Aqua Terra is the Omega for people who wear a watch every day and want it to go with everything. It's simpler and slimmer-looking than the Diver, with no rotating bezel, and still water resistant to 150 metres.
This 38mm version is the size we'd choose for most wrists: Goldsmiths' description calls its case "flattering", and the integrated bracelet sits neatly. If you prefer bigger, the 41mm Aqua Terra uses Omega's calibre 8900.
For vintage looks: Seamaster 300 and Railmaster
Both are modern watches based on Omega models from 1957, and both are quieter than the Diver 300M.
The Seamaster 300 was, according to Goldsmiths, first made for professional divers, underwater workers and the military. Today it's a 41mm diver with the Master Chronometer calibre 8912 and 300 metres of water resistance.
The Railmaster was launched in 1957 for people working on the railways, where magnetism from machinery upset ordinary watches. Goldsmiths' description says today's calibre 8806 resists magnetism up to 15,000 gauss. At 38mm, with big, clear numerals, it's one of the best Omegas for smaller wrists.
For serious divers: Planet Ocean
Goldsmiths' description says the Planet Ocean collection was introduced in 2005. It's Omega's heavy-duty diver: water resistant to 600 metres, with a ceramic bezel and, according to Goldsmiths, Omega's patented extendable foldover clasp. This 39.5mm model is the most wearable size.
The best Omega for women: Constellation
Goldsmiths' description says the Constellation has been made since 1952. You know it by the "claws" on the side of the bezel. Today's models have a slimmer bezel and claws, and hour markers inspired by the New York skyline.
This 28mm model has a quartz movement, so it keeps time without winding, and diamond hour markers on a blue dial. Women who want an automatic should look at the 30mm Aqua Terra, which is water resistant to 150 metres. See also our guide to luxury watches for women.
The best value men's Omega: De Ville Prestige
The De Ville is Omega's dress collection, and the De Ville Prestige is one of the least expensive ways into a mechanical Omega. It has the same Master Chronometer calibre 8800 as the Diver 300M, in a 40mm case with Roman numerals.
It's water resistant to 30 metres, so keep it away from the pool, but as a wedding watch or a smart everyday watch it's excellent value for an Omega. It's also on a strap for less: see our guide to the best watches under £5,000.
What "Master Chronometer" means
You'll see "Co-Axial Master Chronometer" on most Omega dials. It means the watch has been tested and certified by METAS, the Swiss federal institute of metrology, for accuracy and resistance to magnetism. Magnetism is one of the most common reasons a mechanical watch starts gaining or losing time, so it's a useful certificate to have.
Omega or Rolex?
It's the question everyone asks. We've compared them properly, model for model, with prices from both brands, in Omega vs Rolex. In short: Omega gives you more watch for the money and you can buy it today; Rolex has the name.
