Cookie policy
Sterling Guild doesn't set any cookies. A few features remember things in your own browser, and the retailers we link to use cookies on their own websites.
Cookies on our site
We don't set any cookies, and we don't use advertising or social media trackers. That's why you don't see a cookie banner here. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which, according to Cloudflare, works without cookies and without identifying you; see our privacy policy.
What we keep in your browser instead
Three features use your browser's own storage (called local storage and session storage). It stays on your device, we can't see it, and it's never sent to us.
| Name | What it's for | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
| saved-watches | The watches and jewellery you've saved with the heart, so your list is there next time. | Until you remove them or clear your browser's data |
| recently-viewed | Up to 12 watches and pieces of jewellery you've looked at, shown on the homepage so you can get back to them. | Until you turn it off below or clear your browser's data |
| sg-shown | How many watches you've loaded on the Watches page, so the back button returns you to the same place. | Until you close the tab |
| recently-viewed-off | Only there if you turn off recently viewed below: remembers that choice. | Until you turn it back on or clear your browser's data |

Cookies on retailers' websites
When you follow a link such as "See it at Goldsmiths", you go through Awin, the affiliate network that runs Goldsmiths' affiliate programme, and then to the retailer's website. Awin and the retailer may set cookies on their own websites to record that you came from us, so that we can be paid a commission if you buy. Those cookies belong to them, not to us: see Awin's privacy policy and the retailer's cookie policy on its website, where you can usually choose which cookies to allow.
Clearing what's stored
You can delete everything our site keeps in your browser by clearing your browser's site data for sterlingguild.co.uk (in most browsers: Settings, then Privacy, then Cookies and site data). Your saved watches and jewellery will be gone too.
More about how we handle information is on our privacy policy.
