About these terms

These terms apply when you use sterlingguild.co.uk ("the site"), run by Sterling Guild ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept them. If you have a question about them, email contact@sterlingguild.co.uk.

We don't sell anything

We compare watches and jewellery and write buying guides. We don't sell watches or jewellery, take payments or deliver anything. When you follow a link such as "See it at Goldsmiths", you go to the retailer's own website, and anything you buy there is between you and the retailer, under the retailer's own terms, delivery and returns policies. Your rights as a consumer are with the retailer.

Some of our links are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It doesn't change the price you pay. Our affiliate disclosure explains how this works.

Prices and information

• Prices are the retailer's own prices on the date shown next to them. We check them regularly, but retailers change prices and end sales without notice, so the price on the retailer's website when you buy is the one that counts.
• Specifications come from the retailer's product page and, where we say so, from the brand's own website, with the date we read them. We take care to copy them accurately, but if something matters to you (a size, a water resistance, a movement), check it on the retailer's page before you buy.
• Stock can sell out at any time. A watch or piece of jewellery shown on our site may no longer be available.
• Our guides are our opinion, based on the information above. They're general information, not personal advice.

Names, photos and logos

Watch and jewellery brand names, model names and logos belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the watches and jewellery we write about, and we're not connected with or endorsed by those brands. Product photos are provided by the retailer for use by its affiliates. The rest of the site, including our text, design and guide pictures, belongs to Sterling Guild: please don't copy it in bulk or republish it without asking.

Using the site fairly

Please don't use the site in a way that breaks the law, tries to get around its security, overloads it, or copies large parts of it automatically.

Links to other websites

We link to retailers, Awin (the affiliate network) and other websites we mention. We don't control those websites and aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

Our responsibility to you

We provide the site free of charge and do our best to keep it accurate and working, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. We're not responsible for losses caused by relying on prices, stock or specifications that have changed or that came to us wrong from a retailer or brand, or for anything you buy from a retailer.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that can't be limited, or our responsibility for anything we can't legally exclude.

Changes

We may update these terms when the site changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there's a dispute, the courts of England and Wales can deal with it, though you can also use the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
