Which Tissot Seastar to buy: 1000 vs 2000, and Seastar vs PRX (2026)

The Seastar is Tissot's dive watch, and it comes as the everyday Seastar 1000, water resistant to 300 metres, and the heavy-duty Seastar 2000, rated to 600 metres, in quartz and automatic, from 36mm to 46mm. This is which to buy, and how it compares with Tissot's other bestseller, the PRX, using Tissot's own figures.

Seastar or PRX?

They cost about the same, but they're very different watches. The Seastar is a dive watch, with a rotating bezel and 300 metres of water resistance. The PRX is a slim 1970s-style steel watch with an integrated bracelet: Tissot gives the 40mm PRX Powermatic 80 as 10.93mm thick and water resistant to 100 metres, which is still fine for swimming. Both have the same 80-hour Powermatic 80. Choose the Seastar if you'll be in the water a lot, the PRX if you want one watch that also works with a suit.
