The best Tissot watches to buy in the UK (2026)
Tissot has made watches since 1853 and is the best-value Swiss brand there is. This is which Tissot to buy, from the least expensive quartz PRX up to the automatic chronographs, with the best Tissot for men, for women and under £500.

We don't sell watches. Links to retailers are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, the retailer may pay us a commission. You pay the same price, and no brand or retailer pays to appear. How this works

In this guide
The best Tissot for most people is the PRX Powermatic 80: Tissot's best-known watch with an automatic movement, a sapphire crystal and 100 metres of water resistance. Under £400, the quartz PRX. For swimming and diving, the Seastar, and for a dress watch, the Le Locle.
Every watch here is sold new by Goldsmiths, a UK authorised Tissot retailer. Prices are Goldsmiths' own on the date shown.
How we chose
We looked at every Tissot Goldsmiths has in stock and picked the best of each collection on what you actually get: the movement, power reserve, water resistance and price. The facts come from Goldsmiths' and Tissot's own descriptions. We earn a commission if you buy through our links, which never changes the price you pay. The guide starts with the least expensive Tissots and works up.

Under £500: PRX, Seastar and Gentleman in quartz
Tissot PRX (quartz). The watch that made Tissot fashionable again: a flat, angular case with an integrated bracelet, inspired by the 1970s. The 35mm green-dial version suits most wrists, men's or women's. For every PRX size and version compared, see which Tissot PRX to buy.

Seastar 1000. If you swim, this is the Tissot to buy under £500: water resistant to 300 metres, with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a Swiss quartz movement, according to Goldsmiths. It's 36mm, so it isn't a huge diver.
Gentleman (quartz). Rounder and more classic than the PRX, with a sapphire crystal and 100 metres of water resistance.
£500 to £1,000: the Powermatic 80 automatics
This is where Tissot is unbeatable. The Powermatic 80 movement winds itself as you move and is named after its 80-hour power reserve: take it off on Friday evening and it's still running on Monday morning.
The best Tissot overall: PRX Powermatic 80. Everything that makes the PRX great, with an automatic movement, so there's no battery to change.
Gentleman Automatic. A 38mm Powermatic 80 with an 80-hour power reserve, 11.53mm thick. The best everyday automatic Tissot makes.
Le Locle. Goldsmiths' description says it's named after Tissot's home in the Swiss Jura Mountains. It's a 39.5mm automatic dress watch on a leather strap, with an 80-hour power reserve and a sapphire crystal case back.
Seastar automatic. The dive watch with the Powermatic 80: 43mm, water resistant to 300 metres, with an 80-hour power reserve.

How we write these guides: every watch is one you can buy new from a UK authorised retailer. Prices and specifications come from the retailer's own product page, and anything extra comes from the brand's website. We check prices and stock every morning, but they can change, so the retailer's page always has the final word. No brand or retailer pays to appear.
