The best watch brands for women in the UK (2026), by budget
From affordable fashion watches to Cartier, these are the best watch brands for women at every budget, and the one watch we'd buy from each. Every brand is sold new by a UK authorised retailer, and every price is the real one today.

We don't sell watches. Links to retailers are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, the retailer may pay us a commission. You pay the same price, and no brand or retailer pays to appear. How this works

How we chose
We looked at every women's watch Goldsmiths has in stock, grouped them by brand and price, and picked the brands that are best at each budget: the most watch for the money, a proper guarantee, and a design you'll still like in ten years. We earn a commission if you buy through our links, which never changes the price you pay.
Under £200: Olivia Burton, Sekonda and Citizen
Olivia Burton. Goldsmiths' description says Olivia Burton was founded in London in 2012 by two women. It's known for pretty, distinctive dials, like this gold honeycomb. It's a fashion brand with quartz movements: buy it for the look.
Sekonda is the brand for a simple, cheap watch: most of its women's watches at Goldsmiths are under £100, with a 2-year guarantee. Check the water resistance before you buy, because some aren't water resistant at all.
£200 to £500: Tissot, Citizen and Seiko
Tissot is the best-value Swiss brand there is. The PRX at 25mm has the 1970s-style integrated bracelet that made the men's version so popular, a Swiss quartz movement and 100 metres of water resistance.

Citizen. Most of Citizen's women's watches are Eco-Drive: they charge from any light, so they never need a battery, and Goldsmiths lists a 5-year guarantee. The Silhouette is a neat 25mm everyday watch.
£500 to £1,500: Tissot's automatics, Raymond Weil and Gucci
This is where you can step up to an automatic: a watch powered by the movement of your wrist, with no battery. The Tissot Le Locle is a small, classic Swiss automatic in steel with rose gold tone.
Raymond Weil makes elegant, dressy Swiss quartz watches, such as the Toccata. Gucci is the fashion-house choice, with designs like the G-Timeless.

£1,500 to £2,500: Longines and Rado
Longines is our pick for the best-value Swiss luxury brand. Goldsmiths' description says the Conquest collection's name was protected by the Swiss Federal Intellectual Property Office in 1954. This 30mm Conquest has a mother-of-pearl dial and 100 metres of water resistance, so it's an everyday watch, not just a dress watch.
Longines' DolceVita is the rectangular alternative: dressier, and a classic gift.
Rado is known for high-tech ceramic. The Centrix pairs a polished steel bracelet with black high-tech ceramic, according to Goldsmiths.
£2,500 to £5,000: TAG Heuer, Omega, Breitling and Cartier
TAG Heuer. The Carrera at 29mm is a proper automatic, with TAG Heuer's 5-year guarantee and 100 metres of water resistance.
Omega. The Constellation is Omega's best-known women's watch, with diamond hour markers and Omega's 5-year guarantee. Breitling's Chronomat 32 has a COSC-certified SuperQuartz movement and Breitling's Rouleaux bracelet, according to Goldsmiths.

£5,000 and over: Cartier, CHANEL and Chopard
Cartier is the name most women ask for. Goldsmiths describes the Ballon Bleu 28mm as having a fluted crown set with a synthetic spinel cabochon, blued-steel hands and a sapphire crystal. Cartier watches come with 2 years' guarantee, plus 6 more when you register with Cartier Care, according to Goldsmiths.
CHANEL's J12 is made of what Goldsmiths calls highly resistant ceramic; this 33mm version is automatic and water resistant to 200 metres. Chopard's Happy Sport adds diamonds to a sporty steel watch.

Fashion brands: Michael Kors, Fossil and Guess
Fashion brands are great for following trends at a low price: most of their women's watches at Goldsmiths are between about £100 and £300. They use quartz movements. If you'd like a watch to last decades, spend the same money on a Tissot or a Citizen instead.

How we write these guides: every watch is one you can buy new from a UK authorised retailer. Prices and specifications come from the retailer's own product page, and anything extra comes from the brand's website. We check prices and stock every morning, but they can change, so the retailer's page always has the final word. No brand or retailer pays to appear.
